We believe the Bible, consisting of sixty-six books in the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
We believe that there is one God, Creator of all who is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. His divine attributes include love, holiness, justice, righteousness, faithfulness, omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence— all harmonizing perfectly in the unity of his being. (Matthew 28:19)
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. We believe the Divine Son of God became fully human by the miracle of the Virgin birth, that He lived a sinless life, and in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross he paid the price for our sins. We believe that He rose again on the third day and now sits at the right hand of God as our advocate and will return one day in power and glory. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1, 14, 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-7; Hebrews 1:3; 1 John 2:1)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe that He brings about the new birth, indwells, seals, anoints, and endows all who are regenerated with spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit also leads believers who daily surrender their life to Him by guiding, teaching, sanctifying, and filling them. (John 15:26, 16:8, 3:3-6, 14:16-17, 14:26)
We believe that all people are created in the image of God. At the same time, because of Adam’s sin, all people are sinful by nature and choice. Apart from forgiveness in Jesus Christ, all are lost and alienated from God for eternity. (Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3)
We believe that salvation is the result of genuine repentance of sin and faith in the atoning work of Christ. Faith in Jesus and the repentance of sin is the only path to salvation for lost/sinful men and women. (John 3:16; John 5:24; Titus 3:3-7; John 14:6; Acts 4:12)
We believe in eternal life, and that through belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, we spend eternity with the Lord in Heaven. We believe that in rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we receive eternal suffering in hell. (Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; John 3:36)
We believe that the true church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. The local church exists to exalt Christ, encourage believers, and evangelize the world. (Colossians 1:28; Ephesians 4:3-6; 1 Timothy 3:15; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13)
We believe the Christian ordinances are two: baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe they are outward symbolic rites appointed by Christ to be administered in each church, not as a means of salvation, but as a visible sign and seal of its reality. We practice baptism by immersion after a person has professed faith in Christ. Communion is a physical reminder that Christ died for our sins and is a memorial to Him until He comes again. As important as these are, they are not to be regarded as essential for salvation. (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34)
We believe God’s design for sexual intimacy is to be expressed only within the context of marriage. God instituted marriage between one man and one woman as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one man and one woman until death parts them. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Romans 7:2-3)
We believe that God created all human beings in His image. Therefore, we believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; and that we must honor the physical and spiritual needs of all people; and by following Christ’s example, we believe that every person should be treated with love, dignity, and respect. (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10)
We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. The Church is responsible to address the moral issues of each generation based upon the authority and conviction of God’s Word; it is a grave failure for the Church to be silent on the moral issues of the day. (Matthew 5:13-16; James 4:17)
