Facility Use Policy
City on a Hill Church – Uniondale, Indiana
We are glad to share our facility with others when possible and appropriate. Because our building is dedicated first and foremost to the worship and work of Jesus Christ, all events held at City on a Hill Church must align with our biblical values and respect the purposes for which this space exists.
This policy outlines the guidelines and expectations for using the building for personal events such as receptions, weddings, family gatherings, and community functions.

Eligibility and Priority of Use
- Church functions always take priority.
- Requests are approved in this order:
- Church ministry events
- Church members / regular attenders
- Unaffiliated
- Unaffiliated events may require a designated host (church representative) to be present for the entire duration of the event.
Confirmation Process
1. A completed Facility Use Request Form must be submitted for consideration. You may do that here.
2. Upon approval by church staff, a Facility Use Agreement will be prepared and provided to the requester.
3. The event date is not secured until the agreement is signed and all required fees are paid in full.

Scheduling and Availability
- The building is not available for use during:
- Sunday mornings
- Thursday evenings
- Any other pre-scheduled church event or ministry
- Saturday evenings may be subject to additional restrictions
- Requests must be submitted at least 14 days in advance.
- All reservations are subject to approval by church staff.
Available Spaces
The following areas may be reserved individually or together:
- Sanctuary and adjoining overflow
- Basement common area
- Kitchen
- Nursery (must be specifically requested at time of booking)

Additional Notes:
- Facilities Fees must be paid in full to secure the reservation.
- Fees to Custodian, Sound Tech, and Host are due prior to the event start.
- A refundable damage deposit may be requested at the discretion of church staff.
Technology and Equipment
- Use of the church’s sound system, projector, or any AV equipment requires prior approval.
- Equipment may only be operated by an approved member of the church tech team.
- A $100 fee applies for the tech operator.
- Unauthorized use of AV equipment is strictly prohibited and done at the renter's own liability.
Cleanup and Damage
- The church custodian will clean typical post-event mess (e.g., vacuuming, trash removal, restrooms).
- Renters are expected to:
- Remove all food and food-related trash
- Wipe down any surfaces used
- Take care of unusual or excessive messes
- Decorations are permitted but must:
- Be free-standing or temporarily attached with non-damaging materials
- Not involve nails, staples, or permanent adhesives
- Be removed the same day unless prior arrangements are made
- Any damage to church property or equipment is the financial responsibility of the renter.
Behavioral Expectations
- Alcohol, smoking, vaping, or illegal substances are not permitted on church property.
- Events must be conducted in a way that respects the church’s mission and environment.
Final Notes
All arrangements—including requested spaces, tech needs, nursery use, and any setup plans—must be clearly communicated and approved at the time of booking.
